This is the Fourth Week of the Great Fast. On Wednesday, March 10th, we will serve Matins at 10:00 AM. Hours and Confessions will continue at 5:00 PM. The Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts will be celebrated at 7:00 PM. The Mystery of Holy Unction will be celebrated on Friday, March 12th, at 7:00 PM. Saturday, March 13th, is a Memorial Saturday. You may leave names on a blue list writing at the top “Memorial Saturday.”
The Mystery of Holy Unction will be celebrated in our parish this Friday, March 12th. To receive this holy mystery of healing of soul and body it is necessary to be an Orthodox Christian and to have made confession within the past week. Confessions will be heard starting at 5:30 PM on Friday before the beginning of the service. Plan to confess the weekend before or come as early as possible on March 12th. It is not necessary to fast all day before this mystery, but we should not eat a meal immediately before it to keep our souls open to the great grace of God poured out at this mystery.
Those who wish to commune at the Presanctified Liturgy beginning at 7:00 PM should if at all possible fast from midnight the night before from all food, drink, and, of course, smoking. If you wish to request a moderation of this fast, speak to your spiritual father.
