Volunteer Appreciation Dinner: Sunday, October 21, 2012
A dinner was held in appreciation of the volunteers that organized and helped with this year’s Fall Festival. The main focus of the festival is to bring our church community together and outreach to our local community.

On Saturday September 22 baby Sophia (5 months) - daughter of Alexander and Tamara Shuster - was baptised by Father Alexander. The godmother is Natalia Rothman.
Lutz Family Baptism
On Thursday September 20th, Hannah Lutz, Thomas Lutz (age 4), Michael Lutz (3), and Isidora Lutz (17 months) were received into the Church by Holy Baptism. The godparents are Helen Epstein, Peter Epstein, Eugene Yukin, and Madeline Lutz, respectively.
Baptism of Catherine Eldridge
On Saturday September 2/15, baby Catherine, daughter of Edward and Yuliya Eldridge, was baptized by Father Alexander Lisnichuk. The godparents are Daniel and Joana Iliev. Also in attendance was Father John Townsend.

We welcome sister Maria from St. Elizabeth Convent in Belarus
Sister Maria, a novice at the convent, is visiting the USA to raise awareness of their work and programs: a chldrens hospital, and drug/alcohol rehab residences. She is seeking both financial and spiritual support. She will be visiting Orthodox churches thoughout the country for the next month and a half.
Seeking Fall Festival Volunteers

Students attend Divine Liturgy
On Sunday July 22, Dr. Olga Glymph brought a group of 27 students to St. Mary for Divine Liturgy. The students are from the North Georgia College & State University Russian Language program
Students Visit St. Mary of Egypt
On Friday July 13th, Sasha Yefremova and a group of students from North Georgia College & State University visited St. Mary of Egypt for a tour and brief lecture. The visit was in conjunction with the school's Russian Language program.
Baptism of Nicholas Iliev
On Saturday June 24/July 7 (Nativity of St. John the Baptist), baby Nicholas, son of Daniel and Joana Iliev, was baptized by Father John Townsend. The godparents are Reader Peter Epstein and Maria Villa. Visiting from Bulgaria was grandmother Rositza Assenova.
Interior of Church Narthex Completed
The renovation of the interior of the Church narthex has been completed. Removal of the large windows has resulted in an aesthetically pleasing environment and ambiance conducive to prayer. As an added benefit, the window removal will also result in greater control of heating and air in the narthex. Over the next several weeks the exterior walls will be completed. Thanks to those members of our parish whose diligent work brought about this significant improvement.
Pilgrims Return from the Holy Land
On June 12, Russian, Greek, Serbian and American pilgrims from across the Metro Atlanta area and beyond left for a two week pilgrimage to the Holy Places in Constantinople, Mt. Sinai and Jerusalem. It was a most blessed and glorious experience for all who participated: filled with joy, mutual love and caring for one another and the people encountered on this holy journey. It is hoped that we can make this pilgrimage on a more frequent basis. For a photo report:
Fall Festival Kickoff
The Festival Committee met Sunday, June 3, to discuss the 2012 Fall Festival. This will be our third annual Fall Festival and each year it gets bigger and better. The Festival is our way to introduce the Orthodox Church to our community and share our Christian hospitality. Stay tuned for more information about our Festival in the very near future.

The Softener of Evil Hearts
On March 23, 2012, we were blessed to host the miraculous Icon of the Mother of God "Softener of Evil Hearts." Hundreds venerated this holy icon throughout the day.
