The last weekend in November the youth of St. Mary's had their first youth group activity.  After coffee hour the youth gathered to begin making small blankets for the preemies in the NICU.  This will be an ongoing project throughout the year.  When all of the blankets are finished, the youth will deliver them to the local hospital NICU. Afterwards the youth visited the Roswell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to perform instrumentals on the violin, french horn, and piano as well as sing for the residents.  The youth were blessed to have an accomplished pianist from our parish accompany them.  There was a decent-sized audience when we first arrived.  As the youth continued to perform, the audience more than doubled!  It was a wonderful hour spent with the elderly residents and they can't wait to go back again.  Already, there is a guitar, clarinet, and more vocals to add to the mix the next time they visit.  When the youth returned to the church they spent time together while eating pizza.  If you are interested in participating in the youth group or would like to play/sing at the nursing home next time, please let Olga Kelly know when you see her or email her at loewetn@hotmail.com.
