Our parish is a part of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad under the spiritual direction of its First Hierarch, Metropolitan Hilarion. Our pastors are Father John Townsend and Father Alexander Lisnichuk. Our parishioners come from all parts of the metropolitan Atlanta area and beyond. We welcome visitors from all over the world.
The Holy Orthodox Church is open to people of all nationalities; our congregation consists of Americans, Russians, Georgians, Ukrainians, Bulgarians, and others. Early missionaries in the Orthodox Church used the vernacular for worship and taught the faithful to praise God in their own language. At St. Mary’s we continue to embrace that same missionary philosophy. Our services are primarily in English.
Church tours are very popular. The tour will allow you an opportunity to learn more about the Church, observe the beautiful icons, and ask questions about the rich history of the 2,000 year-old Orthodox Church. We welcome your visit and hope that we can share our faith and history with you.
You are welcome to light a candle for yourself, a loved one or a special need,
today or anytime the church is open. Candles are located at the entrance of the church.
